Welcome to Lori's Heirloom Sewing website. Lori B. Wood, (owner and designer) attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. With distant family in surrounding towns, Lori would visit and see their beautifully dressed children causing her to immediately inquire about where to buy their outfits. Constantly she was told that "you cannot buy heirloom outfits, you must learn how to make them yourself."

Growing up as a crafty child, Lori was always needle-pointing or cross-stitching projects and felt it was time to learn something new. After her cousins told her that the only way to acquire these beautiful heirloom outfits for herself would be to learn how to make them, she thankfully and coincidentally met Sarah Howard Stone and her daughter Melissa Stone, and a staff member, Ann; all who soon became Lori's mentors and teachers of the art and techniques of heirloom sewing. Even to this day, she still refers to notes and books from classes she had taken from these women.

After many hours of classes, and years later, Lori still loves the art of heirloom sewing and now wants to pass it along to others without them feeling like they have to learn this special, tedious technique. Therefore, Lori has established Lori's Heirloom Sewing for her friends and colleagues. Ever since establishing this business, Lori's Heirloom Sewing has expanded beyond her wildest imagination!
